Hello our name are Anna and Kim and today we are going to explain you a little bit about New Zealand.
First of all, is anybody here who has travelled to New Zealand? So, okay.. it’s a little country where is situated southeast of Australia and the capital city is Wellington. It’s a island where live aproximatly 4.000.000 persons, and a 98% of them speak English as their first language. And the other 2% speak Maori, it’s a language that only speak people from New Zealand.
Now we are going to tell you about the Culture of this country. Here you can see some of the topics.
2. Traditions
Haka : the war dance performed before rugby matches.
3. Festivals
Big Day Out: The Big Day Out is an annual music festival in different cities in Australia and New Zealand in January. On this festivals different music groups play rock music, electronic music, mainstream international acts and local acts.
4. Food and drinks
Rangitoto Ice Cream: A dessert consisting of vanilla ice cream.
Fast Food: New Zealand's fast food include Burger King, Pizza Hut, and of course McDonald's.
Beverages: An alcoholic beverage is a drink that contains alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are divided into three general classes: beers, wines, and spirits.
8. Dialects and accents
The english in New Zealand is similar to the Australian english.
New Zealand English is similar to Australian English in the pronunciation; but there are, however, some differences. One of the most prominent differences between the New Zealand accent and the English accents is for example, they say “Buh” en state of “but”, “schoow” en state of “school” and “Wullington” en state of “Wellington”.

Harbour bridge: It is the second-longest road bridge in New Zealand, and the longest in the North Island.
Auckland Museum: is one of New Zealand's most important museums and war memorials.
Queen Street: the main street of the city, from Karangahape Road down to the harbour.
12. Kiwi
Kiwi is the nickname used internationally for people from New Zealand, as well as being a relatively common self-reference. The name derives from the kiwi, a bird which is native to, and the national symbol of, New Zealand.
